The Sweet Bee Overdrive is designed to deliver an overdrive valve amplifier, and its dynamics make it a pedal with great response to the picking dynamics that together with a good tube amp,it can clean when you relieve the attack on your guitar strings, even with the pedal set with enough gain, a light touch on the strings will result in a fairly clean sound, and then trigger a glorious overdrive when you apply a more aggressive attack.
Although it usually works well with most modern rock situations, its application is best suited for classic blues and rock sounds, although it can be heavier when combined with an amplifier channel with more gain or added to the other drive pedal.
It produces a more open sound and greater gain compared to conventional Tube Screamers.
Responds equally well with humbuckers and single coils, their sound is crisp and clear, without even the slightest hint of confusion. It's incredibly articulate, if you're playing single note lines or chords, there’s always nicely defined note separation.
It consists of three controls: Volume, Drive and Focus. The first two controls are virtually the classic controls on an overdrive pedal and self-explanatory, the volume controls the signal level while the drive handles the gain effect you'd like in your tone. The Focus control, however, is a general EQ that also affects the amount of overdrive. When at minimum, the focus control offers a softer, lower tone while it cuts off the overdrive level slightly. When you begin to maximize, it acts as a slight enhancement of treble while increasing excess frizz and from this point gives the pedal a more tweedy character. While these controls may seem simple and straightforward, there is really great pedal versatility.

O Sweet Bee Overdrive foi projetado para oferecer um overdrive de amplificador valvulado, e sua dinâmica faz dele um pedal com ótima resposta ao dinâmica da palhetada que juntamente com um bom amplificador valvulado, pode limpar quando você alivia o ataque nas cordas da sua guitarra, mesmo com o pedal ajustado com bastante ganho, um toque leve nas cordas resultará em um som bastante limpo, e em seguida desencadear uma glorioso e exagerado overdrive quando você aplicar um ataque mais agressivo.
Apesar de geralmente funcionar bem com a maioria das situações modernas de rock, sua aplicação é mais adequada para blues clássicos e sons de rock, embora possa ser mais pesado quando combinado com um canal de amplificador com mais ganho ou somado à outro pedal de drive.
Produz um som mais aberto e maior ganho em relação aos Tube Screamers convencionais.
Responde igualmente bem com humbuckers e single coils, seu som é nítido e claro, sem sequer o menor sinal de confusão. É incrivelmente articulado, se você está tocando linhas de notas únicas ou acordes, sempre há uma separação de notas bem definida.
O pedal soa bem em quase qualquer uma das suas configurações, sem ruído de fundo e um som geral comprimido, e como a maioria dos overdrives atuais, não mascara o som original de sua guitarra, o que significa que seu timbre original nunca é comprometido, apenas refinado.
